Clay – URA – Several inquiries re. projects, but nothing set in stone
Homeless Campus Update – Dean and Luke – approx. ½ way through the discussion.  Committee of approx. 20 people.  Has been focused on education so far, will be getting into the meat of things soon.
 
County:
Commissioner John Kefalas: Oil & Gas regulations were approved by Planning Commission.  Going in front of the Commissioners March 23rd.
 
Jeff Jensen, Planning Commission – Glade Reservoir hearings will begin in April, then go to the Commissioners in May/June. 
 
Laura Walker, Economic and Health Services: New position with the County

Feds: Dan Betts, Senator Gardner’s Office: Getting back to “normal” a bit.  Just passed the Stem Careers Act, helps Vets getting back into the workforce.  Every Word We Utter: trying to get a monument in DC erected to  honor Women’s right to vote (100th Anniversary).
 
Police: Sgt. Matt Johnson: District One working homeless/transients heavily now.  Addressing camping issues.  Urged us to address things immediately if you see it!  Check fraud is popping back up.  Police Department is currently adding lots of new officers

  • 25 years in business in NoCo
  • Focus on “attainable” housing in the range of $295-445K
  • Will extend Suniga almost 2,000 ft.
  • Will add 400+ housing units, walkable to Downtown Fort Collins
  • Townhomes, condos, stacked ranch.  Very 55+ friendly.
    • Row Houses, Residences, Flats, Brownstones
  • 40% green space (will manage the stormwater issues)
  • Will incorporate a Mercy Housing product for even more affordable housing.
    • 86 units, for-rent housing
  • Metro District was approved.
    • 65 units will be affordable for less than 80% AMI
    • Remaining 377 units will be priced at an “attainable” range between $300-400.
    • Will improve public infrastructure (replace sewer line, add 4-lane Suniga)
      • Attached to trail system
    • Energy efficient LEED Gold Standard
      • Solar on every unit
    • Breaking ground late 2020/early 2021
      • Will happen before the Lemay Bypass comes to fruition
    • NOTE: City did not participate in the cost savings of the project
    • Mixed use building/pool/clubhouse/central park.  Hoping for a coffee shop, bike repair station, etc.
